Bio
Hey, I’m Carson. I’m a military historian by training who studies how nations work together in war.
My doctoral research explored alliances, coalitions, and the messy business of multinational operations, with a focus on World War II in the Mediterranean. My dissertation retraced the process through which the Allies learned to successfully manage and sustain large-scale joint and combined undertakings on the theater level for the first time.
I’m currently shaping that research into a book and keeping busy with other projects, including the ongoing digitization of the papers of General George C. Marshall, who led the U.S. Army during World War II.
When I’m not buried in the past, I’m helping out at Ballyhoo, a family-owned print company, where we create large-format graphics for events and creatives nationwide. It’s been a rewarding journey, giving me a front-row seat into the power of visual storytelling in business and community life.
This site is my home base for writing, notes, projects, and the odd side-trail. If something catches your eye, feel free to reach out.—always happy to connect.
